6 Time Saving Travel Tips

Travel doesn't have to be stressful. Check out these time saving and stress reducing tips to get organized for your next adventure!

Tip 1: Contain your stuff. Contain your categories of clothing into bags or packing cubes. It will make it much easier to find what you and your family need to get dressed and keep clothing organized in a new place. Don’t forget to bring one empty bag to hold your dirty laundry separate from your clean clothes.

Tip 2: Toiletries. Pack your toiletries into travel size, clear containers that fit into a toiletry bag. Write what’s inside on the bottom of your containers. I recommend packing liquids into a ziplock bag just in case they spill or leak (and you can easily get them out at security if needed). By having a complete set of everything you need to get ready in travel size containers, you’ll be ready to hit the road at a moment’s notice.

Tip 3: Get ready to travel. Review your “To Do” pile and calendar a few days before you leave. What absolutely has to happen before you leave? Get those done first and you can guarantee more relaxation on your trip. Need to take care of something while you’re on the road? Bring it with you in a folder or plastic sleeve.

Tip 4: Keep the kiddos organized. If you are bringing new toys or activities for your kiddos that are still in their packaging, consider bringing a few ziplocks to keep the parts and pieces contained once they are opened on the plane or in the car.

Tip 5: Organize your snacks. For those that know me, I don’t go anywhere without a bar or snack to eat when the hunger strikes. Pack a bag of enough snacks and wet wipes that will last your whole trip. Replenish 1-2 snacks in your purse or day-bag each morning. Do you take vitamins each day? Bonus points for packing vitamins for each day of your trip before you head out the door.

Tip 6: Organized electronics. Do you have a bunch of chargers for all your electronics? Keep them all in one bag so you can easily find what you need when you need a charge. Review the electronics you are brining before you leave to ensure you have a charger to match. Pre-load your electronic devices with magazines, movies or shows to keep you entertained on the trip. Don’t forget your noise cancelling headphones or earplugs!

Bonus Tip: Get your pets ready to travel. If you are leaving them at home with a sitter or boarding them, write down the feeding instructions on the food containers, and don’t forget to leave your contact info and your vet info.
